23 June 2022 - Open Day at Greenbush in Wookey
Members of the Wells Gardening Club may be interested in the Open Day at Greenbush Nature Reserve. Here are the details:
Location: Greenbush, a young nature reserve next to Greenfields Cemetery, Doctors Hill, Wookey BA5 1AR. Parking next door.
When: 23 June 2022 from 11 a.m. 'til 4 p.m.
What: plants for sale and refreshments
Entry: make a donation to Somerset Wildlife Trust
Susan, the owner, writes:
I bought the field of some 4 acres in 2013 in order to manage it for wildlife after many years of equine use. 600 native trees were planted in 2014 and 600 in 2019. They are growing well and there is slow progress on the native wild flower establishment. Owl, kestrel and deer visit, even red kites one day. There is a vole colony and many badger setts. There are also other wildlife friendly creatures and I have plans for a pond.
Donations of plants, refreshments and help would be welcome. Contact this website and you will be referred to Susan.
